Alcohol Under The Microscope

Michael Davidson, a researcher at Florida State University have discovered beautiful patterns in beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. To get these images Davidson crystallized the drinks on a lab slide and shined a polarizing light through the crystal form. Each image is seen through a microscope and magnified 1000 times.

These images can be purchased online at the BevShots website and come in a wide variety of drinks including whiskey, rose wine and the Daquiri (right). The images can be purchased as coasters, metallic prints or large good quality paper prints. A portion of the proceeds go to support research at Florida State.
