The Great Gatsby: The Game

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is a fantastic book, and also a pretty fun video game. Charlie Hoey and Pete Smith have created a clever playable take on Gatsby based on classic games of the NES era including such titles as Megaman, Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania. Players take the role of the novel’s narrator, Nick Carroway as he visits locations like the Valley of Ashes and New York City and fights gangsters, hobos and the eyes of Dr. T. J. Eckleburg. The game is a fun and brief distraction and is well worth a few minutes of your time.

Play the game here and also check out the fake ad and instruction manual that Hoey and Smith created.
