Carl Sagan featuring Stephen Hawking “A Glorious Dawn”

A while back a friend of mine showed me this video and introduced it as “Carl Sagan, autotuned.” At first I was concerned, as autotune has largely been used as a gimmick. However, when the video started I was surprised by how reverent it treated Dr. Sagan and Dr. Hawking. The video is part of a series by electronic musician John Boswell called the “Symphony of Science.” For this series of pieces, Boswell has taken clips from science programs such as Nova, Sagan’s Cosmos and Hawking’s Universe and added backing music and slight autotune to create beautiful songs about the life, nature and existence. Check out the video here, and if you want to own the song on vinyl, visit Jack White’s Third Man Records.
